Porco Rosso is an anime film by the Japanese anime director Hayao Miyazaki from the year 1992. It is a production from the Studio Ghibli. The story is set at the end of the 20’s in the time of the Fascist government in Italy. The pilot Porco Rosso (a man with a head like a pig) tries to achieve peace in the skies and to do so takes on air pirates for payment. The German licensee of the film is Universum Film which issued the film under the Ufa anime label in 2006.
