Battle for Terra is a US computer-animated film from the year 2007, directed by Aristomenis Tsirbas. The script was written by the director himself and Evan Spiliotopoulos. The premiere of the film was held at the Toronto Film Festival in Canada on 8th September, 2007. The film tells the story of Mala, a rebellious teenager, who lives on the planet Terra. Terra is a place of peace and tolerance which has been free from war and weapons of mass destruction for a long time. A civil war and an ecological catastrophe occur, however, which brings chaos to the planet when it undergoes an invasion of people. During this unrest Mala befriends an injured human pilot and both notice that they are actually not so different. Together they make the alarming realisation that there are only restricted resources and only one of the two populations has a chance of survival. A fight for survival begins.
